Added fizz for PR firm after Coca-Cola account win

MANCHESTER PR firm Citypress has won a major contract to manage the UK trade PR for Coca-Cola Enterprises Ltd (CCE), one of the world’s largest independent Coca-Cola bottlers.

No monetary value has been put on the contract win.

The PR firm, which also has Birminghamand London bases, will support major campaigns for the branded products CCE produces on behalf of The Coca-Cola Company in the UK including Coca-Cola, Coke Zero, Fanta, Dr Pepper, Oasis and 5 Alive, as well as for franchise brands Monster, Capri-Sun and Appletiser.

CCE produces and sells more than four billion bottles and cans of soft drinks in the UK every year and employs some 4,000 people at manufacturing sites, offices and depots in England, Scotland and Wales.

Coca-Cola’s sponsorship of the World Cup in Brazil this summer will be a major focus and Citypress will be helping CCE to promote its range of in-store and on-premise promotional activity to UK supermarkets, convenience stores, pubs and bar operators.

Citypress will report to CCE’s public affairs and communications team in Uxbridge, West London.

Charles Tattersall, Citypress chief executive, said: “Coca-Cola Enterprises produces and sells some of the best known and highly regarded brands in the world, which we will be supporting as part of this exciting new brief.

“We will be helping CCE to build on its category leadership position and showcase both its market innovations and the support it provides to retail and licensed customers of all sizes.”
