National Grid seeks JV partner for Voltage Park

NATIONAL Grid is looking for development partners for its 67-acre Voltage Park site in Partington.

It has hired DTZ to seek a joint venture partner for the site which is next to Shell’s 1,600-acre Carrington site.

That was picked up by Newton-le-Willows-based Langtree last year and is designated in Trafford Council’s core strategy for a mixed-use development with 1,560 new homes and 185 acres of economic development.

Voltage Park has outline planning consent for around 1 million sq ft of industrial and logistics space.

Tony O’Keefe, DTZ’s director of North West industrial, said: “This is the largest industrial joint venture selection exercise in the region at the present time. Given the current scarcity in deliverable development sites in the Greater Manchester area, Voltage Park offers a rare opportunity to redress this supply imbalance.”

A shortlist of contenders will be drawn up after the May 9 deadline for submissions.
