Property news: Styles & Wood; B&M Bargains; Urban Splash, and more

ALTRINCHAM-based fit-out specialist Styles & Wood has completed a £770,000 school project in Warwickshire.

The 20-week project required the full strip out and remodelling of the school which included a design and technology suite, a science room and a teaching kitchen.

Styles & Wood’s specialist education service team was appointed to handle the refurbishment following a competitive tender process.

Operations director Paul Lonsdale said: “The team went above and beyond basic requirements and considered the site appearance, respect for the local community and the environment throughout the project.”

B&M Bargains is creating 68 jobs at a new shop at Broadheath Retail Park in Altrincham.

The group is opening later in the month at a 20,000 sq ft former Toys R Us unit.

Area manager Larry Downey, said: “B&M is committed to recruiting from the local area and I’m pleased we’ve found a great team from in and around Altrincham. We’ve been selling big brands at sensational prices since 1978, and now the people of Altrincham will be able to buy some great value products from their local store.”

URBAN Splash has agreed 50,000 sq ft of deals across its commercial portfolio in Liverpool since the start of the year.

Property and management consultancy, Creative Space Team, has signed up for 35,000 sq ft at the Crown, Jerome & Carlisle building on Victoria Street.

At the Matchworks building in Speke a number of new tenants include retail group Shop Direct which has taken a 5,509 sq ft unit as a temporary training facility. There have also been lettings at the Match Factory, Mersey House and Slater Street Studios.

EDENGATE Bespoke Homes, the property development company established by former Apprentice candidate Adele Lock, has sold 80% of its Butley Hall development in Prestbury off-plan.

The project involved the conversion of the derelict grade II listed building into seven apartments and three mews houses.

Ms Lock said: “The properties have been purchased by clients with very different personal circumstances but they have all recognised the unique qualities of the development and appreciated the opportunity to personalise their home.”
