Liverpool FC poised to unveil Anfield expansion plan
DETAILS of the expansion of Liverpool FC’s Anfield ground are expected later today.
The club wants to carry out a £150m expansion of the Main and Anfield Road stands that will increase capacity from 45,000 to 60,000.
The work is linked to a wider Anfield regeneration plan that also involves Liverpool City Council, the social landlord Your Housing, and construction firm Keepmoat.
A spokesman for the project said local residents are being briefed today before further information is released this evening. A planning application is expected by the end of May.
The wider plans also include more than 500 houses, shops, offices, a 10,000 sq ft “food hub” in Stanley Park and a 100-bed hotel that would train young people to work in the hospitality industry.
