Bolton Uni puts halls up for sale

THE UNIVERSITY of Bolton has put its two halls of residence up for sale.
The halls, Orlando Village and The Hollins, are located close to the town centre and provide accommodation to around 700 students in the town.
The university wants to sell the freehold on both properties but tie-in the new owner to manage the buildings as student accommodation for 25 years.
In a statement it said: “As part of the disposal of the halls the university will enter into a reservation agreement with the selected provider which will be for an initial period of 25 years whereby the new provider will become the university’s preferred supplier of student accommodation.”
The university said the sale would enable it to focus on its core business of academic study and invest in its estates development plan. It did not say how much it hoped to receive from the sell-off.
