Pesto opens first West Midlands restaurant

ITALIAN chain Pesto has opened its first restaurant in the West Midlands as part of a plan to double the size of its estate.

In October the Salford company said it would open 10 new sites and create 400 jobs this year.

Pesto has invested £500,000 with landlord Star Pubs & Bars, the leased pub division of Heineken UK, on the site in Hollyfield Road, Sutton Coldfield.

Pesto co-owner Neil Gatt said: “Pesto is all about enjoying great food together with family and friends and we’re delighted to have opened in Sutton Coldfield.

“Our focus is on offering the best possible experience for diners using fresh ingredients to create a wide variety of authentic Italian dishes.

“We know our customers enjoy our grazing-style menu, relaxed atmosphere and friendly service style and, as this is our first Pesto restaurant in the West Midlands, we are delighted to bring our distinctive dining experience to prospective diners across the region.”
