Shoosmiths to take space at ex-Granada site

THE MANCHESTER office of national law firm Shoosmiths expects to take around 20,000 sq ft at the former ITV Granada site this year.
The firm has 15,000 sq ft at 3 Hardman Street in Spinningfields and a further 5,000 sq ft at Quay House, the 1960s block on Quay Street which developer Allied London is planning to demolish and replace.
Allied London has also taken control of the former Granada site and is rebranding the main office building as Hello House.
Shoosmiths’ office head Harold Brako told TheBusinessDesk.com: “We have grown more quickly than we expected to, having gone from six people to 150 in just over five years.
“We are continuing to grow and this will give us some breathing space to continue that expansion. I don’t think we envisaged that in this climate we would have been as successful. It’s been a phenomenal journey, and we haven’t finished.”
Mr Brako said the Manchester office had seen growth across the board with particular demand for its property, corporate and finance litiagation services.
