Appointments: Duchy of Lancaster; Lloyds; Euprotec, and more

THE Duchy of Lancaster has made four new senior appointments.
Head of commercial property Mike Andrews will oversee the Duchy’s commercial property portfolio. He has previously worked for Hillier Parker (now CBRE), DTZ and most recently was a director at Canmoor Asset Management.
Graeme Chalk will be joining as head of project management, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations concerning the Duchy’s estates and assets. He has previously worked for Heery International and Marks and Spencer and joins from Centros where he has worked for the last 10 years.
Neil Hall has been seconded to the team from AMEC as a consultant, to provide development planning advice and John Whitehurst has also joined as a consultant with responsibility for its investments in the North West including Crewe Hall Farm Buildings, 81 Fountain Street and Centenary Park.
He has previously worked for GVA Grimley, MEPC and Prestbury Investment Holdings Limited before moving to Riddelltps in 2005.

Founded in the 13th century, the Duchy of Lancaster is a private portfolio of land, property and assets held by the Queen.

MANCHESTER bio-tech firm Euprotec has appointed Mark Hollingworth as its finance director.
The company said the part-time appointment would bring additional financial and sector expertise to the firm as it prepares for further growth.
Hollingworth spent a significant part of his career at AstraZeneca working on a number of high profile projects including its research and development strategy.
He is also the founder of Integral Finance, a business partnering service company aimed at high-growth life science and healthcare businesses.
He said: “I am thrilled to be joining such an innovative and promising company. Euprotec has experienced incredible growth, which has been driven by a passionate and focused management team. This is a fantastic opportunity and the perfect time to join the business.”
Euprotec provides contract research services to companies involved in the discovery and development of new drugs to treat infection, respiratory diseases and allergy.

MANCHESTER-based HOW Planning has appointed Carol Robinson as a new business development co-ordinator.
She joins the team after 12 years with Deloitte Real Estate.

LAW firm Shoosmiths has announced four new partners in the firm’s May promotions.
The new round of promotions now brings the national firm’s total number of partners to 135. They are joined by 14 new senior associates. All promotions take effect from 1 May.
The Manchester office saw three promotions of Sean Adams (recovery services group), to partner, and Mel Grimshaw and Lisa On-Iam (both real estate), to senior associate.

LLOYDS Bank Commercial Banking has appointed a director to its liquidity advisory team in the North West.
Carole Humphreys is one of four new directors to join the now nine-strong team, which is headed by David Brunton.
It provides strategic advice and services to help businesses with annual turnovers of more than £25m maximise their cash deposits. Humphreys will work with companies in Manchester and Liverpool.

BLACKBURN food manufacturer Pets Choice has appointed Vic Azam as national account manager.
Azam, who has previously worked at Armitage Pet Care, will manage retail partnerships.

ERIC Wright Facilities Management (EWFM), a division of the Bamber Bridge-based Eric Wright Group, has appointed Wayne Calland as energy manager.
Calland, 44, from Bolton, has worked for E-fficient Energy Systems, Inenco and EDF Energy, specialising in bespoke energy management and carbon reduction strategies.
At Eric Wright he will provide a variety of energy management services including cost management and utilities procurement, energy management and carbon reduction strategies.
He said: “The team already provides services in key areas such as flexible procurement, real time energy monitoring and targeting and practical energy management and I’m really looking forward to working with the facilities management division to proactively lead our clients, ensuring they continue to achieve exceptional results.”
