250,000 sq ft block could sit alongside Co-op HQ

THE Co-operative Group has unveiled concept designs for a major new office block called 3 Angel Square at its NOMA scheme.

The designs, by architect Aedas, show a 12-storey, 250,000 sq ft glazed building fronting Angel Square, currently home to the Co-op Group headquarters at No 1.

Publicity for the scheme said the building would be, “Designed with the environment in mind and to create outstanding work space. It would sit alongside One Angel Square, head office of The Co-operative Group”.

In April the Co-op signed up Hermes Real Estate, which manages money for the BT pension fund, as a 50:50 joint venture partner in NOMA.

Warlier this weke it lodged an application to create a public square to the front of New Century Hall where the lower ground floor will have shops, cafes and restaurants. And last year NOMA won planning approval for two sports pitches on the Co-operative Insurance Services car park in Miller Street.
