M247 acquires web hosting firm
MANCHESTER data centre firm M247 has acquired web hosting business called UK Web Solutions Direct.
It said it had paid an “undisclosed seven-figure sum” for the company which is based in Stockton-on-Tees and rents data hosting space in London.
The vendors are Paul Ridge and Neil Wood who each held 50%.
M247, which is controlled by the Buckle family, has two data centres in Trafford Park in Manchester and operates a network across Europe from rented space in Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Brussels, Paris, Prague, Budapest and Bucharest.
It also sells web hosting services and this deal has added 15,000 websites, taking its total to around 70,000.
