Appointments: Clarke Willmott; DSW; Vaioni & more

EMMA Hamnett, an employment lawyer at national firm, Clarke Willmott has been promoted to partner in its Manchester office.

She is among 10 new partners at Clarke Willmottt, which in the year to April grew turnover 10% to £36.2m in April 2014.

In Manchester the firm has also taken additional space at its office at 19 Spring Gardens having hired three new partners and a number of support staff in the last 12 months.

In addition to Miss Hamnett, nine further partner promotions have been announced across the firm. Chief executive Stephen Rosser said: “These appointments further demonstrate our commitment to our growth strategy and will help to ensure that we build on the success of the last financial year.”

MANCHESTER company Arrow Global, which uses data and analytics to recover consumer debt,  has appointed Derek Pinches as head of core collections.

Mr Pinches has 25 years’ experience in collections and recoveries within both large financial institutions and SMEs.  Most recently, he held management roles with LaSer UK and RBS.

Tom Drury, chief executive of Arrow Global, said: “Derek brings with him crucial customer focused expertise and experience, further strengthening the management team and reflecting our on-going commitment to customer service.”

CLOUD computing company Vaioni has appointed Andy Lockwood, a former senior executive of TalkTalk,

Salford-based Vaioni, which specialises on the SME sector, is in growth mode having raised external investment and wants to become a £20m business in the next five years.

Sachin Vaish, founder and managing director said: “Vaioni’s ambition is to be a market leader. Having a non-exec on board is the natural next phase for the business.”

Mr Lockwood was previously transformation director at TalkTalk, where he led the development and delivery of a strategy which over four years created more than £200m of new revenue from next-generation data and IP voice services.

DARESBURY-based corporate finance advisers Dow Schofield Watts has bolstered its ranks with the appointment of Philip Sarthou as  corporate finance executive.

After completing a BSc in Finance from the School of Management and Finance, “Ecole Supérieure de commerce” in Paris, Philip gained an MSc in corporate and international finance from Durham University. After graduating he trained as an accountant at EY.

James Dow, founding partner of Dow Schofield Watts said: “The burgeoning deals market is a key driver in our continued investment in growing the corporate finance team, Philip’s appointment takes the corporate finance team in the North to 16, with a further 18 professionals representing the firm’s other businesses.”

SOLICITOR Jane Young has joined Stowe Family Law’s office in Altrincham, south Manchester.

Miss Young is a trained barrister and matrimonial solicitor, and will be based at the office on Oxford Road.
 
She was called to the Bar in 2007 and is a Resolution- first for family law, member. Jane is also a Trustee for the charity Trafford Domestic Abuse Services (TDAS) and on the management board since 2008.
