Fylde Micro sold for up to £3.5m

A BLACKPOOL technology firm has been acquired by a listed Cambridge business for up to £3.5m.
Fylde Micro develops and makes radio trunking controllers that enable the migration of data from analogue to digital networks.
The business has been sold by its directors Brian Seedle, Norman Burrows, Tom Johnson and Phil Taylor to Sepura which makes digital radio systems, such as two-way radios.
In the 12 months to the end of December Fylde Micro had revenues of £1.2m and was “broadly breakeven” according to Sepura. It will pay £2.75m and up to £3.5m if the business hits certain targets.
Sepura’s chief executive Gordon Watling said: “Fylde’s enabling technology adds another dimension to our critical communications portfolio. We expect the combination of our DMR (digital mobile radio) products with Fylde’s trunking solutions will further accelerate the migration from analogue to digital by smaller, commercial PMR (professional mobile radio) users.”
Oakley Capital Corporate Finance advised Sepura.
