Aerospace firm in major Deeside letting

AIRFRAME manufacturer CAV Aerospace has taken a 10-year lease on 41,000 sq ft at Deeside Point at Deeside Industrial Estate near Chester.

It has extended its lease on a 25,000 sq ft unit and taken an extra 16,000 sq ft from Chester-based landlord District Estates.

The company, which is based in Newcastle and has US, German and Japanese shareholders, has taken the extra space to meet demand from Airbus which is based nearby at Broughton.

Vice president of customer relationships Norman Hardie said: “This forms an integral part of our continuous improvement programme to enhance service levels to our customers as well as enabling receipt of both raw material and finished goods from our supplying sites for all our customer programmes. We will continue to work alongside Welsh Government who are supporting our investment in Deeside Enterprise Zone.”

Legat Owen’s business space team acted for District Estates.

Director Stephen Wade said: “CAV Aerospace is a world class company operating at the leading edge of aerospace manufacturing. We are delighted to have secured their long term commitment to both units 1 and 2 Deeside Point. This is further evidence of the success of Deeside Enterprise Zone as a focal point for advanced manufacturing in Wales.”
