Appointments: Stephensons; Paver Smith; Flowcrete; Santander

LAW firm Stephensons Solicitors has appointed a new managing partner.

Sean Joyce, previously head of regulatory law at Stephensons, has taken up his position as managing partner of the firm’s Regulatory and Criminal Justice department.

The team has 50 criminal lawyers and support staff across the firm’s 10 offices including London, Manchester, Wigan, St Helens, Leigh, Altrincham and Bolton.

Over the past five years, Joyce and senior partner Neal Boland have developed the regulatory team from three staff to 19 specialising in regulatory defence work including fraud, professional discipline, motoring, environmental among others.

He has succeeded Martin Jones who has retired after 16 years as a partner with the firm, but will continue to work as a consultant.

Joyce said: “The Regulatory and Criminal Justice department has a national reputation in many areas of criminal defence. We’re proud of that reputation and I’m thrilled to be leading a team which can boast so many specialist solicitors conducting quality legal work.”

LIVERPOOL PR firm Paver Smith has appointed Karen Swan as its new director of marketing.

It said the appointment will enable the business to develop a “more integrated, holistic offering for clients, with increased focus on engagement through content marketing, social media strategy, brand reviews and development”.

Swan joins from a role as head of marketing at GB Group. Prior to this, she was director of strategic marketing at Trinity Mirror Regionals.
 
She joins Paver Smith managing director Sara Wilde McKeown, directors Jon Brown and Chris Hulme and Chairman David Heal as a Paver Smith shareholder and will sit on the company’s board.

SANTANDER Corporate & Commercial has appointed Peter Capper and Harry Egan as relationship directors at its Preston Corporate Business Centre.

Capper will specialise in working with local businesses with an annual turnover of between £250,000 and £2.5m, while Egan will look after local businesses with an annual turnover of between £2.5m and £25m.

He will work alongside Paul Ratcliffe, who joined the bank as relationship director for this sector of the market last November. They join a 10-strong team in Preston.

Capper previously worked for NatWest, while Egan joins Santander Corporate & Commercial from RBS.

POLYMER flooring manufacturer Flowcrete Group which has its headquarters in Sandbach, Cheshire, has appointed a new managing director for its US operation.

Dave McNeece has been appointed to the role following 15 years’ experience in the global polymer floor and wall coating solutions industry.

For the past four years McNeece has been international marketing and business development manager for Flowcrete based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia supporting the company’s commercial operations across Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, India, Hong Kong, China and the Middle East.
