Appointments: Eight on the up at Deloitte; Oliver James hires & more

DELOITTE has announced eight senior promotions in the region, including two new partners, audit specialist Rachel Argyle and forensics expert Ian White.

A further six rising stars have been made up to director, They are: Caroline Barraclough and Martin Copley (both tax); John Breheny (corporate finance); Laoise Flanagan (internal client services); and John Middlemiss and Andrew Tong (both consulting).

FAST growing international financial services recruiter Oliver James Associates has hired Graeme Edwards as its head of finance.

Mr Edwards joins the Spinningfields-based firm from Deloitte’s Manchester office – which is based in the next door building – where he spent nearly eight years.

Oliver Castle, director, said: “We have been growing steadily in the last few years expanding into both Asia and Europe with more office openings on the cards for this year. Graeme’s expertise will allow us to accelerate our growth by delivering extensive insight and playing a key role in the next stages of our global expansion.”

LONG-standing Oldham construction company Emanuel Whittaker has appointed Paul Hughes as operations manager.
 
Mr Hughes, 47,  has worked in the construction industry for 30 years, has considerable experience in the social housing and public sectors.

Clive Newton, managing director of the176-year-old company said: “Paul’s appointment comes at a great time for us. Despite the challenges that face the industry we have managed to retain an enviable forward order book and all of our loyal customers are continuing to work with us to deliver their investment programmes.  We felt the time was right to strengthen the team and put us in even better shape for the future.”

LIVERPOOL law firm Cassell Moore has appointed Rachel Eley as a solictor in its wills, trusts and probate team.

She joins from Lees Solicitors in Birkenhead, and will be based at the firm’s Grade I listed Edward Pavilion building located at the Albert Dock.

Stephen Morris, managing partner at Cassell Moore, said: “Wills, trusts and probate is a key service area that we were keen to expand into.
