Seafield disposals save 110 jobs

TWO North West businesses have picked up the assets of a failed logistics firm, saving 110 jobs.

Administrators at Grant Thornton have completed two deals which break up Seafield Logistics.

The bulk powder transport business has been sold to Liverpool-based Abbey Logistics and the warehousing arm in Winsford has been bought by Buxton-based Lomas Distribution.

Grant Thornton’s David Riley said: “The stakeholders of Seafield Logistics have experienced uncertainty for some time and the two sales provide a positive outcome. We are delighted that we have been able to secure in excess of 110 jobs as well as provide continuity to the customers.”
