Appointments: Hargreaves; Knights & more

BURY-based air movement and ventilation ductwork supplier, Hargreaves Ductwork has appointed Jon Swales as head of operations.

Mr Swales brings 20 years’ experience of building services design and installation to the role.

His remit includes ensuring operational efficiency of the company’s projects and their delivery. He will also be involved in design and product development at the company.

He said: ““I am looking forward to being part of the company’s ongoing success and future service-oriented development.”

Managing director Tim Hopkinson added: “Jon has a wealth of experience in the sector which will prove invaluable to the plans we have for business and product development and overall growth.”

LAW firm Knights has boosted its Chester team with the addition of two new partners, intellectual property specialist Joanne Shelley and corporate lawter Anton Stirrett.

Sally Wightman, managing partner at Knights in Chester. She said: “Both Joanne and Anton bring a wealth of fantastic legal experience to the team here, and their time spent in industry means that they also really understand how our clients’ businesses work and how best to work with them.

“Our ethos is all about commerciality and this is something that attracted both of them to us, and we are thrilled that our slightly different approach is resulting in such high calibre appointments.”

PATENT and trade mark attorneys, Wilson Gunn, has boosted its patents team by appointing experienced chartered and European patent attorney Mark Jolly as a senior associate.

Mr Jolly, who worked for an intellectual property frim in London before returning to the North West, is based in the firm’s Manchester office.

His focus is patent and design work with specific experience including fuel-cell catalysts, pharmaceuticals, materials and process chemistry.

James Robey, partner at Wilson Gunn, said: “Mark joins us at an exciting time as we plan and look forward to the future while celebrating the past with our 150th anniversary this year.
