House of Fraser hairdresser folds

A LIQUIDATOR is looking for a buyer for the assets of the Partners hairdressing concession at House of Fraser in Manchester.

The business, which employed around eight staff, has gone into voluntary liquidation after a period of slow trading.

It is owned by Ray Barker who has salons in Knutsford and Poynton that continue to trade and are unaffected by the insolvency.

Liquidator Kevin Lucas of the Altrincham insolvency firm Lucas Johnson said: “Numbers had been dwindling and it came to the point where they couldn’t carry on without incurring further losses.”

He added: “We have all the assets but we’d like to find a new concession holder to go in there.”

Mr Barker’s partner Jay Jennings, who was the artistic director at the salon, was found dead in his car in the car park behind the department store 18 months ago. Last year a coroner recorded a verdict of misadventure.

No one could be reached for comment at House of Fraser.
