Appointments: SAS Daniels; Exchange Chambers; MediaCom; PM+M

LAW firm SAS Daniels has appointed Russell Oseman as chief operating officer.

In addition Andy Booth, a music lawyer who has advised artists such as Johnny Marr and The Coral, has joined as a partner in the corporate team.

Russell has joined from Quindell Legal Services where he was chief operating officer and head of supply chain and planning, responsible for the management of more than 200 staff.

At SAS Daniels he will support the partners by overseeing strategic planning, financial management, IT, operations, facilities, procurement, quality and compliance. He will take over the role from Andrew Perry and work from the firm’s Stockport office.

Booth originally studied history at university and spent four years touring in a band, before training as a lawyer. He has joined SAS Daniels after 16 years at Turner Parkinson. He continues to play guitar with The Cassandra Complex.

SAS Daniels has more than 70 staff, including 24 partners, and offices in Stockport, Macclesfield, Chester and Congleton.

PETER Dixon, a founding partner of surveyor Hepher Dixon, has switched careers and joined Exchange Chambers as a barrister.

Hepher Dixon was acquired in 2007 by Savills, when Dixon was head of planning and regeneration in the North. He stayed at Savills until 2011 when he joined Sui Generis Planning.

At Exchange Chambers he is aiming to add to its planning expertise.

He said: “From the outset of my career I have been fortunate to be involved in complex and challenging planning and development projects.

“As a practicing barrister I intend to continue to specialise in planning and property, building on the experience I gained during my first career and developing my particular interests in infrastructure and energy planning and in the interaction between planning control and other areas of public and private law. Exchange Chambers is one of the largest sets in the country so this is a wonderful opportunity for me.”

MEDIACOM in Manchester has appointed Karyn Fleeting to the newly created position of head of organic content in the agency’s digital division, i-Lab.

The firm said Fleeting will explore “new content solutions” to help drive i-Lab’s search engine optimisation services.

Fleeting began her career at Vogue before becoming a commissioning editor with The Mail on Sunday and later news reporter and health correspondent at The Sunday Telegraph. She went on to run Tinderbox Media in Harrogate.

She said: “MediaCom i-Lab’s content department draws upon a wide range of experience and skillsets, and is already producing superb results. I am thrilled to have joined such a talented team. As we increase capacity and expand our content marketing offering, we are poised to add even more value to clients’ organic performance campaigns.”

BLACKBURN accountant PM+M has promoted Antony Keen to director in its wealth management division.

Keen has worked at the firm for 26 years, and 15 have been spent in the wealth management team.

In the new role he will enhance his management of portfolios of pensions and investments for private clients; advise on tax issues, and help corporate clients to meet the new workplace pension regulations.

He said: “I have worked at PM+M for many many years so becoming a director in the Wealth Management team is a real milestone in my career. I am proud to be part of the firm’s history and this promotion really cements my future here. I will now be working alongside my colleagues to develop our wealth management offering, both in the North West and beyond.”
