Chinese takeaway business seeks franchisees

CHINESE takeaway chain, Hotcha, is planning to open up to eight stores in the North West as part of a national expansion programme.

Hotcha, which makes fresh Chinese dishes for collection or delivery, was founded two years ago by entrepreneur James Liang.

Operating under a franchise model, Hotcha is seeking to become a national brand after its launch in the South West.

The company has appointed former Dominos Pizza, Dunkin Donuts and Millies Cookies executive Andrew Emmerson as non-executive director to support its growth plan.

Its feasibility studies have identified the following areas as suitable for its take-aways: Allerton Road and Bold Street Liverpool; Didsbury, Fallowfield, and Chorlton in Manchester; Wilmslow and Chester in Cheshire and Lancaster city centre.

The company has established central systems, which simplify the preparation and delivery of its menu and ensure that franchisees do not need to have a background in Chinese cuisine.  It also operates a central call centre to streamline ordering and payments.

James Liang said: “We are looking for experienced franchisees with strong knowledge of their local markets, a successful track record in business or the food sector and the ambition to launch Hotcha stores in due course.

“Knowledge of Chinese cuisine is not a prerequisite, as we have developed efficient processes and a training programme which ensures that our food can be cooked quickly and to a high standard.”
