Ryanair reveals expanded winter schedule

LOW cost carrier Ryanair is expanding its winter schedule out of Manchester Airport which includes a new route to the Dutch city Eindhoven.

The Irish airline will begin a four times weekly service to Eindhoven on October 26. The extended winter 2014 schedule also includes new routes to Barcelona, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Lisbon and increased frequency on three others, Madrid, Riga and Rome.

Ryanair says its 24 winter routes will help it deliver more than 2.3 million customers a year to Manchester and support more than 2,300 jobs at the airport.

Spokeswoman Maria Macken said: “Our five new Manchester winter routes are ideal for business customers or families booking a winter sun or ski getaway.”

She said the airline would soon be launching a mobile app and a product aimed at business travellers.

Ryanair’s Manchester growth is one of the factors behind the airport’s recent strong performance which sees passenger numbers close to breaking the all-time 2007 peak.
