Peninsula to invest £5m in HR services

PENINSULA Business Service is hiring 15 software developers and investing £5m to expand its online human resources services.
The Manchester-based employment law and human resources consultancy, is beefing up its cloud-based hronline service which allows clients in the UK and Australia to manage employee records.
The business is owned by Peter and Fred Done, the brothers behind the bookmaker BetFred.
Peter Done said: “Clearly investing £5m is a gamble for me but I say never rest on your laurels, if you want to stay ahead of the game you have to keep developing and giving clients what they want. It’s clear to me that a growing number of businesses are utilising IT in their HR operations and demand for our cloud based offerings has soared, it’s clearly the future and I need to invest money so we can meet demand and enhance the product further.
“I like to take chances, if I see something working then I will invest in it, I have some of the best developers in the business working on developing cloud based HR products, for us it is an important part of the future and it’s a dividend that is certainly paying off for us – especially hearing the great feedback from clients. Clearly both myself and my brother Fred are investing heavily in IT, we realise this is the future, you have to keep evolving, changing your business, looking for new opportunities to enhance your product, otherwise what is the point of running a business?”
