Appointments: JRW Group, Rochdale Development Agency & more

SPORTS insurance specialist JRW Group has made four appointments to its team, alongside a new offering for anglers, Fishing Care.
Steven Downs, marketing manager, joins from Swinton Insurance where he was responsible for its social media team. Prior to this he was marketing manager at The Co-operative Group with responsibility for its Membership Magazine.
Another Steven, Steven Lewis has joined as business development manager, having previously worked for Direct Golf and Leeds United FC.
Richard Lilley has joined JRW, which is based at The Royals building by the M56 in south Manchester, as a UX-UI Developer with the objective of creating more user friendly websites and interfaces across the portfolio of brands. The fourth new hire is David Lavelle who joins as a senior developer from MDSAS.

Fishing Care is the latest brand in our stable and the ambition is to make our new brands the number one in their sectors, just as we have done for Golf Care in the golf insurance business. ROCHDALE Development Agency has strengthened its board with two appointments, businesswoman and accountant Julie Bowmer and media lawyer Steve Kuncewicz.
Julie Bowmer is chairman and managing director of several companies including Rochdale based Likahea Holdings, IT infrastructure company The Business Depot and TrailerTeq.
Mr Kuncewicz is head of intellectual property and media at North West commercial law firm Bermans.
Phil Ewbank, chairman of RDA, said: “Steve and Julie are going to bring a wealth of experience to the board. I am impressed by their undoubted business skills as well as their passion and enthusiasm for contributing to the regeneration of the borough. Both are incredibly visionary leaders and will add further impetus to the drive to move Rochdale forward.”

BURY-based air movement and ventilation ductwork supplier Hargreaves Ductwork has appointed Ewing Thompson as head of business development to lead a growth drive in the UK and overseas.
With 30 years’ international industry experience Mr Thompson’s track record includes leading a the bid team for a GSK Bio Tender in Belgium, which he then went on to manage as project director.
Hargreaves Ductwork managing director Tim Hopkinson said: “Ewing’s knowledge, experience and understanding of the industry will prove invaluable to the business. We look forward to working with Ewing to develop new opportunities within key market sectors.”
