Budget gym chain in second Liverpool opening

LOW cost gym operator Xercise4Less is opening its sixth site in the region, and its second in the Liverpool area.

The chain, which offers membership for as little as £9.99 per month, is creating 40 jobs with its latest opening at the Hunts Cross Retail Park on Speke Hall Road.

The group’s 23rd site, the Liverpool Speke gym spans 36,000 sq ft and will hold more than 400 pieces of equipment, a full sized boxing ring with boxing bags and a large free weights area.

The gym, like all other Xercise4Less branches, will have a women’s only area, and a fitness studio hosting more than 40 free classes per week.

Chief executive Officer, Jon Wright said: “With Xercise4Less, we’ve set out to create ‘The People’s Gym’ at each site, realising members use the facilities for lots of different reasons.

“We’re here to ensure people of all ages, and fitness levels, can benefit from great facilities, with cost not being a barrier. The fitness industry has become very greedy and there’s no need to charge members sky high prices – a good gym can be run very economically.”

Xercise4Less already operates sites in Burnley, Bolton, St Helens, Liverpool and Wigan and is soon opening in Blackpool and Carlisle.

Mr Wright adds: “We’re excited about our further expansion in the North of the UK and will continue to extend our services over time to suit the needs of all our members.”
