Hale landmark sells for more than £1m

HALE Conservative Club has been sold for £1.07m to a property redevelopment company.
St. Baldreds Hall on Ashley Road, Hale, has been sold to St Baldred’s Estates Ltd.
The company was set up in September to manage the building and is part of the Knutsford-based Forward Property Group, a property investment and development company that operates in retail, commercial, industrial and residential property across the North West.
The company has a planning application in to change the use of the building. It wants to rent the building out as office accommodation on a temporary basis.
“We are looking to do something in the short term on a temporary basis while we make up our mind what to do with the property,” said the company’s business development manager Chris Wright.
The freehold plot includes a detached private members’ social club with 10,431 sq ft of land and a total site area of just over half an acre.
The Manchester office of Colliers CRE and Knutsford office of Meller Braggins were joint selling agents on behalf of the trustees of Hale Conservative Club.
Mike Brassington, director, at Colliers CRE Manchester, said: “The building sits within the heart of a prestigious residential area and is a perfect location for residential, leisure or even commercial uses such as offices – subject to obtaining the relevant planning permission.”
