Residential block planned for Ancoats

MANCHESTER-based Forshaw Land & Property is proposing a new residential block in Ancoats.

It wants to build 59 one, two and three-bed apartments on a car park off Rochdale Road in New Mount Street.

The six-storey building will also have 53 car parking spaces.

A planning statement submitted with the proposal said: “It is evident that any development of the site will bring economic benefit to the immediate area, replacing cars with people. The building will probably provide accommodation for approximately 100 people, leading to an additional spend within the city centre.”

The architect on the scheme is Manchester-based Hattrell DS One. Forshaw is owned by Lisa and Jonathan Forshaw.
