Bellway buys Crown Packaging site

CROWN Packaging’s former factory site in Aintree has been sold to Bellway Homes.

The developer is planning 89 houses and eight apartments at the seven-acre site.

Crown moved to Trinity Park in Sefton earlier this year. It hired CBRE’s land and development team in Manchester to dispose of the site.

Senior surveyor John Dunlop said: “Following the decision to relocate from the site, Crown Packaging investigated the possibility for alternative uses.

“Due to the positioning of the site within a mainly residential area, a change to residential usage was the natural choice. The sale to Bellway Homes ensures that this strategic site will be brought back to life as a quality development and the deal represents a good result for all parties.”

The sale price was not disclosed.
