Appointments: New chairman for Redx; COO for Conviviality & more

FAST-growing North West pharmaceutical company Redx Pharma has appointed Dr Frank Armstrong as its non-executive chairman.

Dr Armstrong, 57, brings a wealth of industry knowledge and highly relevant experience of oncology and anti-infectives, two of the areas of early stage drug research that have driven growth at the company, which operates from bases in Liverpool and Alderley Park, Cheshire.

Former chairman Dr Peter Jackson, co-founder and director at Redx, said: “We are delighted to welcome Frank to our board. His pharma business experience and clinical insight will make a valuable contribution to our plans for further growth and he is extremely well networked internationally. His skills and instincts are closely aligned to the breadth of our programmes in oncology and anti-infectives, and our early-stage partnering business model.”

BARGAIN Booze owner Conviviality Retail has bolstered its senior team with the appointment of Amanda Jones to the new role of chief operating officer.

She will take up her new position with the Crewe-based company on December 1 and joins from Nisa Retail Limited, which supports independent retailers across the UK, where she was Chief Operating Officer from early 2013. 

Before Nisa she held a number of senior roles within Marks & Spencerfrom 1990 to 2002, latterly as business development manager for the retailer’s International Franchise Group.  She then joined Waitrose (2002 to 2013), where she was influential in developing and delivering new retail formats which delivered significant growth to that business, culminating in her role as head of development (Home).

WARRINGTON-based Claremont Group Interiors has appointed two new members to its commercial team.

The new hires are Rob Hartley, who joins from Steelcase Solutions as commercial business manager, and Katie Vallance as commercial sales executive.

Tim Frankland, joint managing director of Claremont group interiors said:  “Boosting the commercial team in this way means we can offer better client care throughout the lifespan of a project.  Rob and Katie will not only be developing leads, but managing projects as they move through design and delivery.  They join us with real enthusiasm and are keen to get stuck in, which is very much the Claremont way.  We’re delighted to welcome them to the team.”

LIVERPOOL-based Agent Marketing has appointed Rick Blundell as a new senior digital consultant. Mr Blundell, previously a senior IT manager for a distribution company, will be working between the agency’s offices in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle and Hoxton in London.

Managing director Paul Corcoran, said: “The recruitment of Rick complements our existing creative department, allowing Agent Marketing to cater to the multiple requirements of our clients. Rick’s passion for programming and online development will enhance Agent’s creative department, allowing us to deliver bespoke software packages and tailor-made digital platforms for our clients.”

BURY-based Fluid Digital has appointed Joanna Roberts as digital marketing manager.

In her new role she is responsible for developing and managing strategies for Fluid Digital’s clients as well as shaping the agency’s internal campaigns.

Adam Hindle, director at Fluid Digital said: “We’ve had rapid growth over the last 12 months with sales far above our set targets, which gives us the opportunity to invest in both our existing team and bring in new people. As well as expanding the web design side of the business, we have big plans to increase capacity for clients who are interested in digital marketing services.”
