Sales growth for Character Group

TOY designer and distributor Character Group expects to hit full-year targets after seeing sales rise in the UK and overseas.

The listed firm, which has around 100 staff at its main warehouse in Oldham, sells toys it has developed in-house, including some brands under licence, and others sourced thorugh distribution agreements.

Character Group said its portfolio, which includes Doctor Who, Peppa Pig and Minecraft, had performed well in the UK as well as in Europe, Australia and the US.

Chairman Richard King said: “Character Group continues to benefit from a strong product range that is also well received by its retail partners; this coupled with the number of new innovative and exciting range launches will reinforce the group’s position as one of the UK’s leading toy companies with a growing international sales base, providing the group with the engine for further growth.”

Full-year figures for the 12 months to the end of August should be in line with management targets and market expectations.
