Law firm shut down following bankruptcy

BURY-based personal injury firm Regal Solicitors has been shut down by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).

It took the action after a bankruptcy order was made against sole practitioner Nasar Hussain following a petition by Premier Claims (NE) of Dewsbury.

Regal’s workload has been passed to Shacklocks of Mansfield.

The SRA said: “The grounds for intervention are (a) Mr Hussain has been adjudged bankrupt and (b) to protect the interests of clients (or former or potential clients) or the interests of the beneficiaries of any trust of which Mr Hussain is or was a trustee.”

It added: “Mr Hussein’s practicising certificate (PC) was suspended by virtue of the bankrupcy. He has informed us that he is seeking to have this annulled and, if successful, his PC would be reinstated.”

TheBusinessDesk.com could not reach Mr Hussain for comment.
