Application in for Manchester riverside scheme

WEST PROPERTIES has submitted a planning application to Manchester City Council to replace the Premier House complex on the corner of Deansgate and Blackfriars Street.
The development, designed by Ian Simpson Architects, will include 248 apartments, 61,700 sq ft retail space and a 250-bed luxury hotel incorporating Manchester’s largest ballroom.
More than 50% of the site will be given over to public squares. It will open up a new stretch of riverfront, as well as creating two new pedestrian streets.
Colin Roy, managing director of hotels for West Properties, said: “Schemes such as this are vital for Manchester as it continues to thrive nationally, and on the global stage.”
