Appointments: Lloyds Bank; Beever & Struthers; Momentum Instore; Merje; Ardmac

LLOYDS Bank Commercial Banking has appointed a new area director in the North West.

Martyn Kendrick has taken up the post after previously holding positions across Yorkshire over his 26 years with the bank.

He will now head up relationship management teams supporting SMEs with a turnover up to £25m from Carlisle to Stoke, including Liverpool, Manchester and Preston.

The team consists of 75 relationship managers in total, all of whom have the ability to make local lending decisions at their discretion to the value of £1m.

Other new appointees who will support Martyn include manufacturing senior manager Jenny France, agriculture senior manager Dave Knight, property senior manager Dave Brigden and education and healthcare senior manager Ken Garvey.

Mr Kendrick said: “The North West has a wide range of businesses, which is why we have teams of dedicated sector specialists to cater for the unique needs of each type of customer.”

HELEN Armstrong has been promoted to partner in the not-for-profit, social housing and charity team at accountancy firm Beever and Struthers.

In addition Richard Williams, who joined Beever and Struthers in 2008 after 16 years at firms including KPMG and Baker Tilly, has been promoted to audit director.

Armstrong will continue to work primarily in the not-for-profit sector with a focus on internal audit and business assurance, schools and education and also private sector clients.

She said: “As our workload increases in line with a strengthening economy, it’s an exciting time to become partner at a growing firm that provides excellent client care and a range of high quality services.”

Williams will continue to work for clients primarily in the private sector where his experience includes international group reporting and work on London Stock Exchange and Alternative Investment Market flotations.

MANCHESTER fit-out firm the Ardmac Group has appointed Linsay Drinkwater as business development director.

Working primarily from the group’s Manchester and London offices, she will be responsible for driving business growth.

Drinkwater has previously held senior positions with John Sisk & Son and Halcrow Group.

Group business director Roy Millar said: “We are delighted to have Linsay come on board at Ardmac. Her in-depth knowledge of the UK construction and property industries makes her the ideal candidate to further develop our profile in our target markets.”

MACCLESFIELD retail marketing agency Momentum Instore has appointed Paul McCarthy as sales and marketing director.

McCarthy, previously sales and marketing manager, will support Momentum Instore’s growth plans across all channels.

Managing director Rob Gleave said: “This is a critical appointment for us as we continue to gear up to meet the growing demands of our market. Paul brings a wealth of

senior executive retail experience to the board that will now consist of directors representing the full spectrum of our business; from operations, finance, sales and support services.”

RECRUITMENT consultancy MERJE said it has appointed two industry experts to broaden its service offering.

Rob Wright, who joins as a senior consultant at the Manchester office, was previously a business manager for Optima Search & Selection. Ian Ockerby joins the London office to work alongside the expanding customer contact team as a resourcer.
 
Richard Abelson, co-founding director at MERJE, said: “Rob is a very experienced recruiter, who brings a wealth of industry expertise in IFA, investment banking and wealth management. He will oversee the growth and development of this division and we’re confident his appointment will have the right impact on our business over the next few years.”

The consultancy said it expects to double revenues this year and fee income will exceed £1.8m, up 35%.
