Refurb for Scafell hotel

A £250,000 project to upgrade all 24 bedrooms at The Scafell Hotel in Rosthwaite has been completed, with funding provided by NatWest’s commercial banking team.
The three-star hotel sits in the Borrowdale Valley at the foot of both Great Gable and Scafell, England’s highest peak.
A 17th century coaching inn, the hotel has its own restaurant and bar. It employs 27 people and is a popular destination with walkers and fell runners.
The hotel’s managing director Andrew Nelson, said: “We aim to provide a high standard of accommodation and believe the upgraded bedrooms will help us achieve this. It’s great to complete this work and we look forward to sharing the improvements with our guests.”
Chris Kerry and Jon Halliday from NatWest’s commercial banking office in Kendal arranged the funding.
