Berry & Cooper acquires Chorley firm

THE Manchester insolvency specialist Berry & Cooper has acquired Chorley firm Clark Lindsay.

It said the deal will boost its market share and represents the first step in a growth strategy first outlined when the firm launched with the merger of Berry & Co and Baines & Ernst’s corporate recovery team in June.

Clark Lindsay’s directors, Steve and Peter Clark will join Berry & Cooper’s Manchester team as insolvency practitioners.

Personal insolvency business My Debt & Me will also be incorporated within Berry & Cooper as part of the deal.

Managing partner Stephen Berry said: “Clark Lindsay is a respected local practice with an established network of clients and we are thrilled to bring them into the Berry & Cooper fold.

“Steve and Peter arrive with a combined industry experience of more than 40 years, which is sure to add real depth and insight to our service proposition. This acquisition is an early but important step in our long-term development plans for the business and it signals our intention to build a high-quality practice providing bespoke solutions to businesses and their professional advisers.”
