Gusto ready to roll-out new brand

GUSTO, the restaurant chain, is launching a new brand when it opens its new Manchester site early next month.

The restaurant, which has been expanded and refurbished at the cost of more than £1m, is the first Gusto opening since a management buyout in April backed led by Manchester investment firm Palatine Private Equity .

The 8,000 sq ft venue, which opens on December 5, is located on the site of the former Oliver Press eatery on Lloyd Street. An extension has linked it through to Grade II-listed Elliot House on Jacksons Row.

Gusto, which already has sites in Alderley Edge, Didsbury, Cheadle Hulme,  Edinburgh, Heswall, Knutsford,  Liverpool and Leeds, is planning to open up to 15 new locations over the next few years.

Sue Crimes, managing director of Gusto says: “This is a very exciting time for myself and the Gusto team – the Manchester restaurant will set the standard for the Gusto brand.

“After this city-centre opening the group will roll out the new look branding across the existing estate within the next 18 months in addition to opening new restaurants across the country.”

Gusto was spun-out of the Knutsford-based Living Ventures group, but  founders Tim Bacon and Jeremy Roberts remain on the board as non-executive directors.
