Gaucho to launch CAU in Liverpool

ARGENTINE restaurant CAU is to open its first Northern venue at Bruntwood’s Queen Insurance Buildings in Liverpool.

CAU, owned by the team behind Gaucho, has taken a 6,000 sq ft unit that was formerly home to Britannia Building Society on the Castle Street side of the building.

Charley Springall, marketing director at CAU restaurants, said: “When we launched CAU, our vision was to create a restaurant that captured the vitality, passion and sense of fun that makes Buenos Aires such a wonderful place to be.

“We have been keen for some time to open our first outlet in the north and Liverpool was top of our list, but we felt it was important to identify the perfect location for such a venture.

The upper floors of the building will open as a Tune Hotel next year.
