James Fisher on track to hit full-year targets

MARINE services group James Fisher said overall trading is in line with expectations and it has seen “good” growth.
In an interim management statement the business, based in Barrow, said offshore oil, which offers maintenance and production services to the offshore industry, performed well, with Africa and South America offsetting a weaker Norwegian market.
Marine support, the second largest contributor to group profits, saw ship-to-ship transfer volumes slow in the third quarter, particularly in the Far East. But the specialist technical division continued to “trade strongly”.
The group said: “Overall, James Fisher’s strategy of focusing on niche businesses within developing marine service markets is producing good growth over last year and this is expected to continue through the final quarter. The company remains well positioned to deliver further increases in value for shareholders.”
