In Brief: Quick Reach Powered Access; DM Miller; Search is on for ‘greatest’ SMEs

START-UP firm Quick Reach Powered Access has opened its first depot in Eccles with support from NatWest and the bank’s asset finance arm Lombard.
The business specialises in hiring and selling powered access and electric lifts for site work.
It was set up by brothers John and David Barton, and John Barnes.
John Barton said: “Having worked in the industry for so many years we had a burning desire to develop our own style of business. We aim to create the personal touch of a family business to our customers nationwide.”
The funding package includes a £300,000 loan and £500,000 of asset-based finance.

WHOLESALE carpet trader DM Miller has extended its invoice facility from £50,000 to £150,000.
The finance is being provided by Secure Trust Bank Commercial Finance.
DM Miller said the arrangement would improve cash flow at the business which has seen turnover grow to £3m.
Director Lee Olsberg said: “The team at Secure Trust Bank have been fantastic. In the space of a week they offered us an invoice finance facility that was triple the value that our existing bank could offer. The funding will provide us with the flexibility and cash flow required to be one of the largest carpet distributors in the North West.”

A COMPETITION has been launched by the Government and BT to find the most innovative and exciting small and medium-sized businesses in the North West.
“GREAT Faces of British Business” entrants stand a chance of winning a regional heat and going through to the national competition where there is a prize package worth more than £30,000.
The winner will also receive a package of export support from UK Trade & Investment (UKTI).
There are three categories: Best exporter; Most innovative; and Best growth story.
