Surface Transforms motors ahead

SURFACE Transforms, the Ellesmere Port manufacturer of high performance ceramic brakes, said it is trading in line with expectations.

In the six months to the end of November turnover for the period was up 11% at £624,000 but last year’s figure included non-recurring technology transfer agreement payments of £154,000.

The underlying increase came both from a 52% increase in the sale of discs for the retrofit road car market and a 59% increase in racing teams. Cash stands at £131,000, down from £151,000 at the year end in May.

Chairman David Bundred said “The significant increase in continuing sales is most encouraging reflecting both the positive results from the new distribution channels established for the company’s retrofit road car markets and an end to the supply chain problem our automotive race customer had last year.”

He added: “Good progress is also being made on the longer term ‘game changer’ strategic contracts.”
