Appointments: Your Legal Friend; UHY Hacker Young & more

CLINICAL negligence and serious injury lawyer Laura Morgan has left Slater & Gordon in Manchester to join Wirral-based Your Legal Friend in a senior role.

Morgan, who was previously at Pannone and then Russell Jones and Walker, which was then acquired by S&G, joins the Birkenhead -based firm as director of medical negligence.

She has acted in a wide range of cases over her 17 years of practice and has particular expertise in acting for children who have suffered brain injury due to mismanaged birth or surgical errors, and in managing claims that have resulted in fatalities.

ACCOUNTANTS UHY Hacker Young has made two further hires in its Manchester office.

The newcomers are Weronika Nycz and Hashym Saleem, who join from North West firms Bennett Verby and Cowgill Holloway.

Weronika Nycz is ACCA qualified and is an accounts senior, while Saleem will work in the audit team and is in late stages of taking his ACCA exams.

TRAFFORD Park-based VUE CCTV has boosted its team with eight appointments on the back of a number of contract wins.

The in-vehicle CCTV and telematics company has hired: two aftersales managers, three engineers, two sales administrators and an accounts assistant, thanks to an influx of new contract wins.

Brian Roberts has been hired as the new aftersales manager along with Terry Greenhalgh who will specialise in Blue Light sales and aftercare. Accounts assistant, Rebecca Tucker, sales ledger assistant, Lauren Averill and sales administrator, Melissa Jones, join to support VUE’s customer services team in its continuous growth.

Meanwhile, Tom Stapleton, Adam Crosby and Darren Buckby have joined the engineering team at the £4m turnover company.

WARRINGTON-based multi-channel retailer Dawsons Music, has strengthened its expanded education division with the appointment of Dawn Ashworth Hayward as new sales and marketing manager.

Moving from Findel Education in Hyde, she brings increased focus and contacts in the sector to Dawsons.
