Litigation growth drives Gorvins forward

GORVINS Solicitors, the Stockport-based law firm,  has announced 6% growth in turnover led by a strong performance from its litigation department.

Fee income at the firm is now close to £7m. While profits were not disclosed, Gorvins said they have risen 10% in  the last three years.

The Litigation department, led by senior partner Mark Deverell, grew fee income by almost 20% to more than £1.2m.  Residential Property also had a stellar year, increasing fee income by almost 60%.

During the year to the end of November, Gorvins hired 21 people in roles ranging from marketing support to key senior client-facing hires, including employment law specialist Ed Gregory, who joined from national firm Addleshaw Goddard.

Notable deals led by Gorvins Solicitors in the 12 month period included the sale of ACH Group Management to Quindell, a £10.8 million line of credit for bridging loan specialist Bridgebank Capital, and the 50% sale of recruitment agency Matt Burton Group to SF Resourcing.

Managing partner Lorraine Lockie said: “Our year-on-year growth is testament to our staff and their dedication to putting clients at the heart of everything we do.
