THE Manchester office of Laytons Solicitors has confirmed the appointment of Liz Braude as partner in its private client team.

Braude joins from Pannone, part of Slater & Gordon, where she was partner and head of wills and estate planning.

A specialist in trust law and succession planning for businesses, she advises on all aspects of inheritance tax, wills, and LPAs.

Braude is also well known for advising parents of children with special needs who require specialist advice in relation to their estate planning.

A VIDEO game development specialist bought out with investment from Manchester-based private equity firm NorthEdge Capital has appointed a new chairman.

Sumo Digital has installed Ken Beaty into the top slot following the successful launch of LittleBigPlanet 3 for Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.

CHESHIRE-based Brands Solution has installed Alex Lund as its trading manager as part of a strategy to broaden its product portfolio.

He has joined the FMCG specialist from Intamarque where he was senior business development manager with responsibility for handling UK multiple accounts as well as developing exports globally.

The appointment also sees Brands Solution open new offices in Cheltenham to cover the UK’s southern region as well as an opportunity to further develop its presence in the household and health and beauty sector.

CLAIRE Bloor has joined the professional team at Manchester property consultants WHR.

Bloor, who previously worked for Jones Lang La Salle for 13 years, will be working with Gareth Buckley who heads up a team of five in the independent firm’s professional department, which provides informed and strategic advice on all rating and lease consultancy matters.

Partner at WHR, Gareth Buckley, said: “Claire has forged a strong reputation within the industry and I am pleased to welcome her as I am confident that she will prove to be a valuable asset to the team.”

DIRECTOR John Williams has returned to EY to lead its growing North West transaction services team, which advised on deals worth in excess of £2bn in 2014.

Williams – has was previously with EY as a graduate in 1997 and was part of the same team between 2000 and 2006 – has 14 years’ experience leading multi-disciplinary teams advising on large and complex transactions, including corporate acquisitions, management buyouts and dispels. He re-joins EY having spent eight years at Deloitte.

In his new role, Williams will lead EY teams providing due diligence and associated services as well as originating new opportunities in the North West.

He will report to EY transaction services partner Richard Harding, who advised on some of the region’s landmark transactions in 2014, including the £494m take-private of Nelson-headquartered Daisy by a consortium led by founder Matthew Riley, the acquisition of Warrington-based Optionis by MML Capital Partners and the £620m sale of The Co-operative Group’s pharmacies business to Bestway.

BIBBY Ship Management have recruited a new regional managing director for the UK and the Isle of Man in Andrew Rodden.

Rodden, who has a wealth of commercial and technical knowledge and experience will manage Bibby’s crew and technical service delivery while managing the support functions and other operation areas within each local business.

The offshore industry specialist has a base in Liverpool, but Rodden will work mainly out of the Aberdeen site.

DENTAL negligence law firm, Dental Law Partnership (DLP) has promoted five of its specialist solicitors to associate solicitor at its main Cheshire office.

Legal team members Kate Chadwick, Daniel Kinnear, Emma Owen, Heather Owen and Jonathan Owen have been given the step up with immediate effect.

The promotions follow a strong performance in 2014 which saw the number of  new cases double and achieve a £4m turnover.
