Scan Coin wins £1m deal

SALFORD-based Scan Coin has won a £1m three-year extension to provide cash handling systems to  Stagecoach’s UK Bus division.

Scan Coin, which is owned by Swedish firm Rempo, will provide a range of cash depositing and sorting machines onto Stagecoach buses.

Stagecoach UK Bus Purchasing Manager Jim Crompton said: “More people are using our buses each year and despite the introduction of new ticketing options, we continue to handle significant volumes of cash fares each day. Our investment in new vehicles and better facilities for customers is matched by investment in managing our business efficiently.

“The contract with Scan Coin will help us to achieve this and ensure our cash handling keeps pace with the demands of our UK Bus business.”
