Appointments: The Manufacturing Institute; Alexander & more

FRANK Hayden, a hugely experience executive with a number of leading industrial companies, has joined The Manufacturing Institute as an associate partner.

Hayden has led the strategic and operational transformation at businesses, including Land Rover,  BMW, Airbus,  BAE Systems, and Rolls-Royce.

The 52-year-old from Warrington has also taken on leadership roles on large-scale international projects, including the BMW Mini, Airbus A380, Eurofighter Typhoon, F-35 Joint Strike Fighter and Rolls-Royce engines for the Boeing 787 and Airbus A350XWB.

He is also Professor of Advanced Manufacturing at the University of Central Lancashire, providing leadership for the University’s plan to double the number of engineering students and strengthening their research links with industry.

He said: “I’ve been working in industry for 30 years and have spent the last two years as an independent consultant with a wide variety of clients from around the world. I’m delighted to be back in the North West with The Manufacturing Institute helping companies in the UK.”

MANCHESTER accountancy practice Alexander Knight & Co has boosted its team with the appointment  of Jane Marquez.

She joins the team as a management accountant after seven years with North West accountants Hurst.

PROPERTY adviser CBRE has strengthened its northern planning teams again with the appointment of James Sheppard as associate director and the promotion of Bernadette McQuillan to planning director.  

The latest moves follows the firm’s appointment of Chris Argent as planning director from GVA.

James Sheppard will primarily focus on large mixed-use commercial schemes having worked on a number of major city centre developments in Manchester, Chester and Stoke-on-Trent as well as the Omega strategic site in Warrington.

Bernadette McQuillan’s promotion to director reflects her leadership of the CBRE planning team over recent years. She works for major landowners and developers including Schroders, United Utilities, Taylor Wimpey, and Countryside Properties.

SOLICITOR Cameron Bishop has joined the residential conveyancing team at Lancashire law firm Napthens.

Bishop from Bacup, joins after more than 10 years’ with conveyancing service My Home Move,  where he was a team leader and senior conveyancer dealing with complex cases.

Sarah Barnes, head of residential conveyancing at Napthens, said: “Cameron has a wealth of experience in the property sector and will bring valuable knowledge to the team.”
