PLANS are in the pipeline to transform derelict land in Crewe.

North West property and construction specialist Pochin’s is welcoming public consultation on two planning applications for land off Beswick Drive.

The applications, which are being handled by Knights, relate to unused space adjacent to University Way and the Crewe Green Road Roundabout.

Pochin’s is proposing a mixed-use development across three plots, including a new Jaguar car dealership and showroom, service station, and a drive through coffee outlet.

Depending on approval from Cheshire East Council, each plot will be delivered with associated landscaping, car parking and access arrangements.

Pochin’s claims the plans would offer high quality service facilities for local residents and bring new employment opportunities to Crewe and the surrounding area.

Jim Nicholson, chief executive of Pochin’s, said: “The National Planning Policy Framework requires that any proposed development proactively drives and supports sustainable economic development to deliver the homes and businesses, and thriving local places that our country needs.

“We have designed this planning application with that in mind and it is our intention that this will be a positive addition to the local community.”

He added: “We hope that the local community will welcome and support this application for economic development in order that new businesses and opportunities can be brought to Crewe for the wider benefit of the area.”
