Legal news: Bott & Co takes flight; Mills & Reeve & more

WILMSLOW law firm Bott & Co Solicitors, is celebrating the second birthday of its flight delay compensation service this month. 

Since launching in 2013, the firm has recovered over £4.2m for passengers who have waited a combined total of 1 year 7 months for delayed planes.

To date more than 11,000 people have used the law firm to recover flight delay compensation from 70 airlines, with an additional 20,000 ‘live’ claims still in the system.

Bott & Co launched the flight delay department after one of their solicitors, Coby Benson, suffered a seven hour delay on his way home from Israel.

LAW firm Mills & Reeve has acted for SPARK Impact as manager for the North West Fund for Biomedical on a series of investments totalling more than £7m.

The latest round of investments will help firms Bioxydyn, Rapid Rhythm, Cytox, Alber Medical Devices, Videregen, Alchemy Pharmatech, Evgen and Incanthera.

Corporate finance associate, Pippa Pearce, said: “The Fund is doing great work in closing the funding gap experienced by SMEs in the North West and we’re thrilled to have been able to help facilitate this through our strong expertise and track record in this field.”

CHESHIRE-based Thorneycroft Solicitors has agreed to a new funding deal with NatWest as part of its business growth aspirations aimed at enhancing services for clients.
 
Based in Macclesfield, Thorneycroft Solicitors provides a range of services including residential and commercial conveyancing, employment and human resource advice to SME’s, wills and probate, clinical negligence and personal injury and is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
 
The headquarters in Bridge Street serve as the base for the firm’s more than 180 staff. Thorneycroft Solicitors also has offices in Buxton and Holmes Chapel.
