Legal news: Addleshaws’ apprenticeships & more

ADDLESHAW Goddard is offering 10 places on its 2015 Legal Apprenticeship Scheme through its transaction services team in Manchester.

Following the success of the first year of the scheme which was launched in September 2013, the firm will recruit another 10 young people. The 18-month programme leads to a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Legal Services.

It provides each apprentice with extensive in-house and external training as well as tailored assessments providing them with the legal and administrative skills to progress into other roles within the team and the the firm.

Mike Potter, head of the 100-strong transaction services team said: “As a firm, we are passionate about providing a different approach to attracting, retaining and developing great people.

“Apprentices provide a whole new talent pool for the future and allow us to be more agile when responding to client needs. They bring new commitment and energy, whilst offering a more efficient way of delivering elements of our legal services, particularly in large transactions and complex cases.”

HILL Dickinson has been appointed to a significant health service panel.

The national firm’s specialist healthcare department haas been selected for the NHS Commercial Alliance Framework to provide legal services to NHS organisations across the country for the next four years.

The firm will also be servicing the framework’s members from its offices in Manchester, London, Liverpool and Sheffield.

Almost 70 NHS organisations across England, including North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust, are members of NHS Commercial Alliance.

Lawford Martin, partner and head of healthcare at Hill Dickinson, said: “The framework will enable its members to access leading legal support through a competitively procured framework agreement.

“We have continued to expand our geographic reach and this appointment to the NHS Commercial Alliance framework will allow us to offer our legal services to a wider range of healthcare organisations from our locations across the country.”
