Giggs & Neville’s Stock plans approved

PLANS by former footballers Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs to turn Manchester’s former stock exchange building into a boutique hotel have been approved.
The pair, who are opening their maiden property, Hotel Football, next to Old Trafford next month, will turn the historic Grade II-listed building at 4 Norfolk Street into a 35-bedroom property with a rooftop terrace, bar, restaurant gym and business space.
The green light was given by Manchester City Council planners last Friday. Town hall Planners said: “We believe this overall proposal brings a historical piece of Manchester back into existence to be experienced and enjoyed inclusively by the public.”
It is uncertain as to whether the latest development will be football themed.
Giggs and Neville acquired the building for £1.5m in 2013 – in 2004 it had been valued at £4.7m.
The former stock exchange was built in 1906 to replace the city’s former facility on Cross Street.
Meanwhile, the four-star, 133 bedroom Hotel Football will open its doors on March 2. Its unique features include a rooftop football pitch.
