Appointments: New partner at Pannone Corporate & more

LAW firm Pannone Corporate has bolstered its ranks with the addition of insolvency specialist Dermot Preston as a partner.

Preston has more than 20 years’ experience in the sector and has worked at a number of leading firms including DLA Piper and Gateley. Most recently he was a partner at the Manchester office of Ward Hadaway.

He dvises on non-contentious insolvency matters including advising banks, asset based lenders, companies and directors on all aspects of recovery and reconstruction, governance issues, directors’ liabilities and responsibilities and acquisition and sales of distressed companies.

Pannone Corporate managing partner Paul Jonson said: “This investment in the insolvency and restructuring practice will further strengthen our relationships with insolvency practitioners, banks and accountants in the sector.”

Preston added: “I am very much looking forward to joining the team at Pannone Corporate in their fabulous new premises and to help develop a successful insolvency and restructuring practice.”

MIKE Gillett has joined security products supplier Carl Kammerling International as national sales manager based in Manchester.

In his new role Gillett, who has 35 years’ experience in sales, directly oversee a sales management team of three and indirectly manage a 17-strong field sales team.

Managing director, Tom Meyerratken said: “This is an exciting development for Carl Kammerling and Mike will be a great asset to the team as we develop our customer base and deliver on our longer term sales plans.

“His knowledge, experience and reputation within the industry, will strengthen our annual business planning and help drive the strategic direction of the company as a whole.”

MANCHESTER-based Roma Finance, a bridging finance lender, has promoted Daniel Hill to lending manager.

Hill has worked at Roma Finance for nearly two years and has worked in the specialist lending industry for more than seven years and was previously an underwriter at Lancashire Mortgage Corporation.

He said: “This is an exciting time for Roma Finance as we look to build on what we have achieved over the past 18 months and our plan is to triple the size of the business this year. In my new role I will take on greater underwriting and case review responsibilities to help our broker partners on a wide variety of applications as the property and bridging finance markets continue to develop.”
