Conference for aspiring disruptors

THE North West Institute of Directors is launching ‘The Disruption Conference’ to celebrate businesses which have helped change the face of their sectors.

It will take place at Manchester’s Deansgate Hilton Hotel on June 25 with the aim of helping companies challenge their current strategies and maximise growth.

Speakers will include Max Lines (Ube), Steve Byrne (Travel Counsellors), Ian Kennedy (Cisco) and Jeremy Waite (Sales Force).

They are all credited with transforming the environment in which they operate and using innovative strategies to uproot incumbents in their sectors.

Aspiring disruptors will also have the chance to put their business models to the test against a panel of speakers, providing a significant opportunity to explore the mindset of an entrepreneur in greater detail.

Chairman of the North West IoD, Mike Perls, said: ““The Disruption Conference has been established to highlight the revolutionary work being done by some of the region’s businesses, pushing the boundaries and challenging the previously accepted norms.

“For instance, the world’s largest fleet operator, doesn’t have a single car on its balance sheet, while the most disruptive global bank encourages its customers to use products that it doesn’t benefit from.

“The event will allow business leaders from across the North West to gather and question some of the most disruptive businesses we have ever seen, looking to attack the future head-on and create our next generation of disruptors.”
